JJ Valaya, one of India's better-known evening wear designers, is a man who likes to be first. He was the first fashion designer to hold a solo runway show in his native land and the first to hold four solo shows there in the same season. A few months ago came another first, this one in San Francisco - his Valaya boutique opened in the Westfield Shopping Center, his first in the United States. Designer Valaya Launches SF Chapter of Girls Help Group

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. JJ Valaya, one of India's leading fashion designers, will be on hand to launch the Valaya MAGIC Foundation's San Francisco chapter Nov. 15, at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco.

The evening event will feature a fashion show of Valaya's own creations choreographed by famed runway coach Charleston Pierce, dance performances, and a live auction. Attendees will receive goodie bags, featuring a signature tie or scarf from the Valaya line. Wells Fargo has already signed on as an early sponsor of the organization.
